Love, lizards, and a whole lot of lumber: that's the recipe for The Pet Emporium. It all started back in 1990 when Beth wandered into Pets 'n' Things in Saline, seeking help for her Chinese water dragon. Enter John, who not only dispensed expert advice but also swept Beth off her feet (oh, and the water dragon got its fix too!).
Fast forward to 1993, and the lovestruck duo became proud owners of Pets 'n' Things. But their story wasn't over yet. In 2006, yearning for a fresh start, they crafted their dream pet store in Ann Arbor. This wasn't just any shop; it was a labor of love, every inch infused with John and Beth's visions. John, a weekend carpenter, built everything from scratch, including the iconic copper-wrapped counter that still gleams today. And Beth poured her soul into curating the perfect selection of products, ensuring every item spoke their passion for pets.
Today, John and Beth make their home in Manchester, along with their two daughters, three Australian Shepherds, a cat, and a blue-tongued skink. Their legacy lives on in The Pet Emporium, a haven for animal lovers and a testament to the power of love, sawdust, and a shared passion for pets.
